Napier to Gisborne

I wake up to a beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately I make the picture thru a dirty window because it is tooooo cold and to early to go outside.

Today we driving to Gisborne. The roads were badly washed during a storm. For months the road was closed and they nowhere near done.

On the above picture you can clearly see the damage to the road. We see half disappeared roads over and over during our drive to Gisborne.

Again we find a beautiful spot to freedom camping right next to the beach.

We talk a long walk along the beach. Gisborne is a port city. There are huge piles of logs of pine tree. The area around Gisborne is well known for logging.

The rest of the afternoon we spend visiting the tourist information and hanging out at the beach.

There is a huge indoor swimming pool right behind us and we take advantage and go for nice hot shower.
