Today we are taking the ferry from the South Island to the North Island.

Our ferry leaves at 11 am and takes about 3 and 1/2 hours. At the beginning the ocean was fairly quiet but then the waves get a little rougher.

Once we arrive in Wellington, we drive to the Marina. There is a large parking lot which allows campers to stay overnight. We arrive around 3 pm and half of the parking spots are already occupied.

We walk to Pack & Save a do our food shopping. Yellow Tuna for tonight and steak for tomorrow.

Once we get back from shopping, most of the parking spots are taken. And big and small campers continue coming, hoping to find a spot.

After an yummy dinner, we spread out the map of the North Island and plan our first few days.
