Richmond to Nelson Lake National Park on Lake Rotoiti
We wake up to the commotion of the police written a ticket to two illegally parked campers.
We decide to drive thru Nelson Lake National Park towards Picton. As usual we are driving cross country. Nelson Lake National Park is huge with densely pine tree forests. There is a lot of logging going on. However New Zealand takes out the tree stumps and plants little pine tree again. All over we see pine trees of different heights and they are planted in nice straight lines.
When we get to St. Arnaud the weather is turning and we find a camping spot on Lake Rotoiti. It is a beautiful place. All around us are mountains covered in pine trees. We are making a lazy afternoon with reading and sleeping. Around dinner dinner the weather clears and we take a walk along the lake.
After a yummy steak dinner we bunker down as it will be a very cold night.
