K'gari also known as Fraser Island

Today we booked a tour to Fraser Island which is the largest sand island there is.

We had to take a 45 minute ferry before boarding a special equipped bus that can navigate all these uneven sandy roads.

The island is covered with wet/rain forest. There are freshwater lakes on this island. Our first stop is at MacKenzie Lake where we stop for a welcome opportunity to take a dip in the refreshing water.

Our trip continues through the rainforest to the east coast of the island

where our special equipped bus showed us how to race down the packed sand of the beach.

We even saw a wild dingo.

A quick stop at a ship wreck and a last dip in Eli River concludes an awesome day on Fraser Island.
