We sleep in and take it easy.

At this time of the year you are not supposed to go swimming in the ocean. The jellyfish are all over. On certain beaches they put up nets in order to try to catch and keep out the jellyfish. Jellyfish are very common and some are only the size of your nail. If they sting you, you will be in excruciating pain. The ones that are as big as a human will kill you.

As you can see I will be using swimming pools.

On our way to Townsville, we stop at the Alligators nest and take swim. No, there were no alligators only two rivers creating a perfect, cool swimming hole.

This is the road going to the Alligators nest. Peter wanted to drive thru the water.

Not happening!

On our drive south we see a lot of sugar cane fields. Alongside the fields there is a small train which can be stopped and loaded withe te ripe sugar cane.
