I wake up at 5:30 am to the commotion of a whole bunch of white Kakadus getting together right in the tree above where we are sleeping. Peter is sleeping and I am listening to their chattering. All of a sudden quiet and they all fly away.

I get up and enjoy they beautiful morning. 

After breakfast we get on the road.  We are driving south back to the coast. We follow the GPS.  First the road is a regular two lane road. But soon it is becomes a one lane road and then it turns into a gravel road going up into the mountains. We were not prepared for this. It is getting worse. At times the road is so small that I am wondering whether we are going to make it. 

At one point another TravelAutobarn van comes towards us. We stop in the middle of the road and start chatting. It turns out they are Swiss as well from Fribourg.  Only Swiss can be so crazy to travel roads like that. The road is going in and out of valleys and after every turn you think we are finally getting back into civilization. Not so. The GPS said it will take 3 hours. However it took us almost 5!

On top of it we see two snakes!!! One is a dirty olive green. It slithers across the street faster than I can take out my camera. The other one was curled up in the middle of the street, dark green /grey with a lighter colored belly.

We are happy when we get to Lakes Entrance where we stay overnight.
