Oberon to Canberra to Cooma to Jindabyne
We decide not to go back to the coast but go cross country and preferably not highways. Well, we did choose a small cross country road. Sometimes it was two lanes and sometimes just one. At times it descends really steep hills and it is very windy. Sometimes we cannot see the continuation of the road because it is sooo steep and the road simply "disappears".
At one point we pass "Lake George". Hahaha as you can see the lake is not as clean looking as ours.
Traveling cross country gives us an idea of how big this country is and we are only on the east coast. It is very sparsely populated. We see more sheeps and cows than houses!! Australia is huge.
Here are some funny pictures we see along the road. Mailboxes and a wind wheel.
We travell from Oberon to Canberra to Cooma and end up for today in Jindabyne. Jindabyne is at the foot of a ski are. While we are driving towards these “ski mountains” we are smiling. We cannot imagine that there is ever enough snow to ski.
Once we arrive in Jindabyne, Peter sets up the table and chairs and brings out the wine and the chips.
A little latee, we walk up to the community kitchen where we cook some dumplings.
