Sydney to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains

We wake up to a steady rain and decide to drive to the Blue Mountains. They are supposed to be stunning. It clears up a bit but when we reach the Blue Mountains it is very foggy and drizzly again. We cannot see any thing.

We decide to look for a campground which turns out to be a great idea. We are able to get one of the last unpowered spaces on the local campground.

Most of the Australian campgrounds have a community kitchen with an area to just hang out. We are taking advantage of the lousy weather and are doing laundry. We are going to the community room to wait for the wash to finish and find a comfy couch which we grab and stay on for the next few hours. While we are there reading and chitchatting with other campers there are at least four or five other Swiss couples and families hanging out in the community rooms. We are meeting a lot of Swiss who are on the road for a few months with very young kids. We exchange ideas of what to visit and what to miss.

For the last three weeks we have been sleeping on top of our sleeping bags. Tonight we are wearing long sleeves pjs and are sleeping inside the sleeping bag!!!
