Hooker Valley Track Hike

After an early, quick breakfast, we are on our way to do the Hooker Valley hike. It is a 10km hike towards Aoraki. It is a popular hike and by leaving way before 9 am we avoid the crowds and on top of this, a good part of the trail is in the shade.

We cross three suspension bridges which are very wobbly.

Slowly but surely we get a glimpse of the famous Aroaki.

It takes us an hour and half and it is well worth the hike. Aoraki shows itself in all of its glory. It is 3,724 meters tall. There are icebergs floating in the lake below Aroaki.

Now we are hanging out at White Horse Hill Campground and having a glass of wine and some chips.
