Akaroa to Timora

We wake up bright and early after sleeping our first night in our luxury accommodation.

After a leisurely breakfast we drive to town and decide to book a harbor tour. It is a huge harbor and it is home to the smallest dolphins, the hector dolphins. Shortly after we leave the port we are able to observe those little dolphins. They swim playfully around our boat.

The boat then leaves the harbor and and drives along the beautiful, rugged coast.

I am always amazed at the beautiful colors of the ocean. We see bird colonies and seals which are sunning on the rocks.

When we return to the harbor, we can observe a fisherman who is cleaning the fish he caught. The are about 20 or more seagulls sitting on the edge of the boat watching and waiting more or less patiently until the fisherman throws some bits and pieces towards them. And then the fight begins....

After a yummy fish and chips lunch we continue our trip to Timaru.
