Byron Bay to Woolgoolga to Korora Lookout to South West Rocks

Here a few interesting details about Australia. Many houses in Queensland and other parts of the country are built on stilts. It allows the water when it rains like crazy in a short period of time to be soaked up or find another way to get away from the house without flooding it.

The Pacific Highway (M1) follows the eastern coast as close as possible. Did you know that you are allowed to make U-Turns on the Highway? Yes you are allowed to do so!! If there is a service station on the other side of the highway, you can make a right turn, get gas and go back on your side of the road. Another crazy thing, you are allowed to ride your bike (not motorbike) on the highway and we saw a few of them.

Our first stop today is at Woolgoolga Headland. Again a stunning view over gorgeous beaches up and down the eastern coast of Australia.

Afterwards we made a short trip to the Korora Lookout which leads us once again thru the beautiful, dense rainforest.

When we descend back to Coffs Harbor we drive thru banana, avocado and mango plantations.

We are on the way to South West Rocks where we are spending the night. We take advantage and spend a few hours at the beach. I am still amazed at how warm the Pacific Ocean is in Australia.
