Raglan to Kawhia to Waihi Beach
We leave Raglan and head back north to the Kawhai hot beach. However we do not realize that the hot beach can only be found when it is low tide. Again we miss the low tide.
As we know there is a lot of thermal activity in and under New Zealand. So when the tide is low, you can dig a hole close to the edge of the receding water and the sand and all of a sudden you will find warm to hot water. We meet a local couple who tells us that in the winter time you will see steam coming out of the sand at random places and there you will find the hot water.
Peter tries his luck and digs a pretty deep hole but with no success. We hang out at the beautiful beach and enjoy the nice scenery.
We continue our way and make a stop at the Hamilton Gardens. But since it is Easter Monday, the gardens are very crowded and we decide to make another stop here on Wednesday.
When we drive thru Morrisville we start to notice colorful cows along the road. A quick google search tells us there are 45 cows distributed all over town. We found about 25. Here are some pictures.
